Below are 5 points that define Minimalism
1. Need it or want it:
We live in a world where we see about 2000 advertisements and campaigns. Minimalism is about rejecting and not getting into these advertisements and decide whether the product is a need for your life. You have to decide whether it is a need or you just want it.
2. Passion and purpose:
Having a passion to reject unnecessary things from your homes and your lives is Minimalism.
Need to have a purpose that you are capable of having a better life, a better home, and a better society, without having to depend on an object.
3. Rejecting possessions:
It’s about removing your possessions and distractions. This might help you to add more value to your life and your work.
You will have a clear vision and not a cluttered one.
Reject unnecessary coupons, pamphlets, and newspapers. Donate clothes that don’t fit you anymore, give away or sell the electric mixer you do not use.
4. Control over your life:
Take control of your own life and home. Do not indulge and lose yourselves while scrolling through your feed. Make sure to have a schedule, a habit and a regular time to do specific things in your life.
Maintain simple goals to achieve in a targeted time. Have a goal to wash your dishes before going to bed or have green tea early in the morning.
5. Excess is a burden:
Anything in excess is harmful. Having a massive huge couch is unnecessary for a family of two to posses. Donate them and go without any furniture if possible or get a smaller one. Do not cook food more than required.
Simple mindful exercises will help you to stay a minimalist forever.
